No, this isn't a sheep! "Zorro" is one of our flock guardians.

Shetland Sheep
-
Shetland sheep are a small primitive fine wool breed.
Colors range from white to black through shades of grey and white
through shades of brown. We have a variety of fleece types; long
silky and double-coated, short crimpy and closer to single-coated. The
Shetland Sheep standard is the longer crimpy finer fleece. I, like
some other breeders, also want to preserve that Shetland of "The Bronze
Age", double-coated and a bit coarser fleece. My breeding goals
are to keep the silky handle and the finer fleece but have it appearing
in crimped and non-crimped versions. I also have been keeping
track of the color genetics of my sheep and continue to work on
getting these fleece types in all colors. All of our Shetlands are
registered with the North American Shetland Sheepbreeders Association.

- Navajo-Churro Sheep
-
Navajo-Churro sheep are a medium sized coarse wool breed.
Similar colors to the Shetlands, with the exception that some of the
Churros carry Extension dominance. I used these individuals in
crossing with the Leicesters and have some interesting black Leicester
type fleeces on heavier bodies for meat type brood ewes. My Churro
program is to continue to provide luscious Churro wool, appropriate
fleeces but on the finer, softer side and I do register them with the
Navajo-Churro Sheep Association. Folks who are buying these fleeces are
handspinning them for weaving weft and using them in felting projects.
Lamb fleeces are soft enough for next to the skin usage if spun softly.
- Leicester Longwool Sheep
-
Leicester Longwool sheep are a rare breed with very
long silky wool. They are primarily white, with a lusterous
reflection in the fiber. The yarns dye brilliant colors and the
coarseness is very appropriate for rugs.
