March, 2009: Announcing Kim's Local Knitting yarns

The Studio at Mountain Niche Farm has been busy. Last year Kim experimented with producing space dyed yarns for knitting from the wool of Karen Lebeck's Romney. It became "Lewis County Romney". It has joined 100% Shetland, and 85/15 Shetland/Alpaca blend as a product. This year, the 85/15 is a mix of Romney, Shetland, Churro /Wenslydale/Cotswold cross and Alpaca. Space dyed into several colorways using Lanacet acid dyes, the yarn is available in various sized skeins. Handspun yarns are still available in a variety of blends.
